After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, we spent the days around the New Year holiday quietly with friends. One of our favorite things to do with them is to go on walks and hikes. On New Year’s Eve, we woke up to fog so we decided to head up to a higher altitude in search of some sun. We settled on Zugerberg, where we’d be above the fog and have views of the surrounding mountains. At the moment there is little to no snow in the mountains here and everything is brown and dry. Zugerberg would be a nice place to go cross country skiing once the snow comes. But as we have had a lot of fog and low temperatures there is a quite a bit of hoarfrost.
After brunch on New Year’s Day, we headed out to the fields behind the house for a walk in the sun. The frost beneath our feet crunched as we walked the back roads.
Wishing all a happy, healthy and peaceful 2017!
